Dear friends, It has been another exciting, rich, and demanding year for all of us at Tenuta la Pineta. We’ve had our share of satisfactions, challenges, and surprises in a period that has been lively yet critical for our sector. Starting with the awards, we are proud to report that the Italian Sommelier Association has included us in its Top 101 Tuscan Wines. At the same time, the performance of our wines at the Decanter World Wine Awards deserves a special mention, with Bronzante and Tripinio both reaching and surpassing the 90-point mark. Other international competitions where we stood out include the Sommeliers Choice Awards in the United States and

This year, for the first time, we decided to submit the wines of Tenuta la Pineta to the Decanter World Wine Awards. Many experts believe that the DWWA is the most prestigious wine competition of all, known both for its extensive media coverage and for the rigorous selectivity of its jury. To exemplify how strict they are, suffice it to say that the awarding of the silver medal requires a minimum score of 90/100, much higher than that with which many other competitions assign this medal. Having reached fifteen harvests under our belt, we believed that the time was ripe to present ourselves on this important stage. Thus, we

Canaiolo, Style and Characteristics In this article we discuss the characteristics and successes of Canaiolo. We are talking about an unusual and interesting monovarietal wine. Canaiolo, also known as Canaiolo Nero or Canajuolo, is an indigenous Tuscan grape variety, which has always been used as a “minority partner” of Sangiovese in Chianti blends (which also happens to be the case in our Sasso Bisciaio wine). However, it is much rarer to find a monovarietal wine from Canaiolo. The Canaiolo bunch is quite small, and the leaves are usually three-lobed or five-lobed. The winemaker who aims to obtain a high-value product is required to limit the yields in the vineyard, especially when

It will be a particularly rich weekend, characterized by visits, tastings and a special lunch in the vineyard. This year we will be the only producer to offer Cantine Aperte in Castiglion Fibocchi. As always, the goal of Tenuta la Pineta will be to amaze you and to combine wine with the field of art in order to decline together several dimensions of a positive lifestyle. For 2023, in addition to the traditional collaboration with the contemporary artist Alessandro Bernardini,

For an emerging winery like ours, it is always nice and important to tell new successes stories. In recent years, many of our wines have gradually entered the most valuable segment, scoring 90-100 out of a hundred. This time, it is the turn of our Chianti Sasso Bisciaio DOCG which, by obtaining the "gold" medal at London Competitions 2023, becomes our "Golden Stone”, a golden Chianti! (Translator’s note: the Italian term “sasso” means “stone” in English). The prestigious London-based jury describes our Chianti with tasting notes that talk about "Some ripe red currants, wild rapsberry on the nose of this red, touches of green herbs, a pleasant nose" as
